Electricity charges explained
What is the daily supply charge on an electricity bill?

Your electricity bill can include both charges for the electricity you use and a daily supply charge. Understanding the difference makes it easier to see what is driving the total.
Usage charge versus supply charge
Usage charges are linked to the electricity you consume, usually measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). A daily supply charge is charged for each day in the billing period and is separate from the amount of electricity you use.
Why billing days matter
Because the supply component is charged by day, a longer billing period generally means more days of supply charges. When comparing bills, check the billing dates as well as the total amount.
Can the supply charge change?
The rate shown on your bill can change over time. If your electricity usage has stayed similar but your total bill has increased, comparing the rates and fixed charges shown on your current and previous bills can help identify what changed.
BUSTYA compares more than the total
BUSTYA is designed to look at bill details such as usage, billing periods and charges so comparisons are more useful than simply putting two invoice totals side by side.
