Why did my internet bill go up?

BUSTYA internet bill guide

A higher invoice does not always mean the underlying internet plan price increased. Compare the recurring plan charge first, then look for promotions ending, plan changes and additional charges.

Check the recurring plan price

The invoice total can include more than the internet service itself. A like-for-like comparison should focus on the recurring plan charge rather than treating every dollar on the invoice as the plan price.

Did a promotion finish?

Some plans have temporary promotional pricing. If the bill shows a promotion end date or a change from a discounted price to the ongoing price, that can explain an increase without any change in usage.

Compare the same service

When looking for another plan, price is only part of the comparison. Speed, data allowance and access technology can affect whether an alternative is genuinely comparable.
